Sears is a popular US-based department store and was founded in 1893 out of Chicago IL. Believe it or not Sears was founded as a Mail Order catalog by Richard Warren Sears and Alvah Curtis Roebuck. Back in the good old days people would receive a huge monthly catalog from Sears and then pick out their desired items. Weeks later the items would be delivered to their house by US Mail. Competitors to Sears includes Wal-Mart, Target and to a lesser extent JC Penney.
